1 The passion for cars like you and I continue on until we die. It's not just brand new cars that attract us, but also used ones that are stock or once built with aftermarket parts. Obviously, the built ones are sold much less than its original value, but if it fits our taste, then we think about if it's worth the buy. Today, you will see a car that was bought used, but built, and was built even more to fulfill the owner's taste. Let me introduce you to this beautifully built 2002 Porsche 911 Turbo owned by Chris Cossey.

11Bought back in 2009 from Ruf Auto Centre in Texas, Chris loved how the car was already built and how it looked.
  3

4As you can see, the 911 already had a R Turbo 550 kit installed. Personally, I fell in love with this car after I saw a few photos of it because of how the car didn't look extremely modified, but had its internals updated as much as possible.
Porsche corner rig 1Chris found out the car had a new clutch, turbochargers, intake piping, and a few other parts, hence making around 400HP. However, that wasn't enough for Chris. I loved how he mentioned, "after having it for a few months, it got a little boring to me, so I decided to change it up a little bit to add some power to it." I am sure t he word "boring" is something that we all have once said or thought about, because once you start modifying your car, there will never be an end.
p2So what was done to it? Chris decided to take his car to EPL (European Performance Labs) in Connecticut where a lot of things were upgraded. I'm not talking about simple internal or external parts. Turbochargers, fuel injectors, a methanol injection kit, and a fuel pump are just a few out of the many. After the upgrades, the car made 599.9whp and 643ft lbs of torque using 93-octane fuel.
  p6

10Not to mention the new wheels and suspension. Bilstien PSS10 coil overs, Performance Friction 01 compound brake pads, and OEM rotors and calipers are what is currently on the car and for the wheels, BBS E88 three-piece race wheels wrapped on Kumho Ecsta XS.
  6

7Let's get on with the interior. Not a lot of parts were installed, but just to mention a few, an Alpine double-DIN was installed, as well as a JL amplifier and JL Audio W6 subwoofers, enclosed behind the rear seats.
p4I'm positive that many of you guys fell in love with this car after reading the feature today. Everything about it is mint and built professionally.
9I want to thank Chris for allowing us to feature his car and our contributor Jim Davis and Dan Purpura for shooting this car together for my blog. Just to give you guys a heads up, this car is for sale, so if any of you guys are interested, leave ma an e-mail :)

1

In the automotive world today, especially in the modified car scene, there are not so many cars out there that are revealed to the public. Getting the opportunity to shoot such cars is a privilege for the photographer and also for the site that gets to feature it. A few months ago, my good friends from Bulletproof Automotive contacted me about a car that was built by their company, which was requested by the owner of the car, Oscar Morales. I have to give mad props to Oscar on deciding such a costly project. While many others go through a cheap route, it is those who support the original aftermarket companies that deserves recognition.  Already knowing Bulletproof Automotive being one of those companies that support authenticity and build flawless cars, I immediately accepted their request and asked one of our contributing photographers to go to their company to shoot the car. What you will be seeing today is a rare beauty. I'm not talking about an ordinary 370Z that you see on the streets. Get ready to be astonished.

  3

There are many aftermarket companies today that support this model in the Nissan line, but rarely will you see one with a complete Amuse Vestito kit. Inside and outside, everything on this car is rare and authentic, which defines Bulletproof Automotive because this company supported authentic parts from the beginning. If a car is built by them, then you will obviously know that whatever car they build will be worthy for a feature.
  13

4

A complete set of Endless BBKs and wheels that we all love, Volk TE37SLs.
    2

When it comes to engine parts from Amuse, what I personally love are their exhausts. The touch of titanium and outstanding work of welding will make almost everyone look at it more than once.
  7

What makes an exotically modified car look better is a talented model next to it. Early thanks to Sandra Wong.
  8

Taking a quick look inside, you will see Recaro Sportster CS seats that are known to be very supportive for the driver and passenger.
  5

Accommodating the beautiful set of wheels, the car is lowered on HKS Hipermax III coilovers.
   6

10

The uniqueness of this car is absolutely surprising because a mix of other aftermarket parts make it look even more exotic.
    9

Japan-0035 How's it going everyone! It seems like the hot days are coming soon, because here in California, it's been hot as hell, so you know what that means~ car shows! I'll be making a separate post this week on upcoming car shows so stay tuned. Yeap yeap, you'll be seeing NI staffs and I at those shows, so don't forget to holla.

By the way, the blog itself has been quiet, so my apology once again. But every time I come back to post something on the blog, you know it's going to be good. Today, you will be going on a tour to very famous places in Japan. Our contributor Charles visited several places during this past 2 months, first being Fuji Speedway, ASM Yokohama, and Kawasaki, Japan. First off, let's check out Fuji Speedway.

Japan-0007Seeing the Ferraris (main photo) would have been an epic moment to Charles because you don't see these beauties all together at once. We all know by now that at events, other than the show cars, you'll bump into gorgeous cars at parking lots, like this Skyline dr30.
Japan-9450Ouf! That fitment and stance. Gotta love it. Don't know where this car was captured, but I would've followed it for awhile.
Japan-9452Time to check out some drift cars! What a unique color combo.
  Japan-9455Just clean.
Japan-9456Checking out something at the rear.
  Japan-9458Mmmmmmmm.
Japan-9471Looks monstrous for some reason. Those headlights remind me of a Hakosuka I saw at some blog.
Japan-9473It's amazing how some of these drift cars are kept so clean.
Japan-9496Gotta stand out with the exterior look.
Japan-9503Another example of a clean car.
  Japan-9565Lego!!!!
  Japan-9570Weeee~~
Japan-9253A visit to the infamous shop, Autobacs ASM Yokohama. If you just got into the car scene, ASM by Autobacs will obviously be unfamiliar, but to many of you guys that love S2000s, I'm sure ASM is one of the aftermarket companies you guys favor the most.
  Japan-27

Japan-26Of course, S2000s. Did you check out our small feature of the Widebody ASM S2000 by Kaoru Shoji? Click here.
    Japan-9251Customers.
Japan-2"The stage no one can reach. Yes, we can! 'ASM Autobacs'"
  JapanAnother S2000.
  Japan-4Is this....heaven????
Japan-5I don't know about you guys, but I LOVE Recaro seats. Yes, there are plenty of aftermarket companies that make seats, but Recaro is #1 in my list. ASM Yokohama is one of the largest Recaro shops in Japan. If you can't find a certain model at some store, then go to ASM Yokohama.
  Japan-7

Japan-8Seats fukin everywhere.
  Japan-10Seems like a customer.
Japan-23Check out those seats for kids.
Japan-24A last look at the seat section.
Japan-3I don't know much about Saclam, but after checking out their site, it seems like they specialize in exhausts for variety of cars.
Japan-6Never seen this car before? It's a ASL Garaiya. A modified ASL Garaiya was in the Super GT series in the class of GT300. This beauty is sitting on Volk Racing CE28ns and in between the spokes, AP Racing BBKs.
  Japan-11Ouu~
  Japan-12

Japan-13

Japan-15

Japan-16

Japan-17

Japan-19Some goodies.
Japan-21What you see is a Toda Race Engine, surrounded with a carbon fiber box.
Japan-18Once you go to ASM Yokohama, you would come across the infamous widebody ASM S2000, but it seems like it wasn't present when Charles went for a tour.
  Japan-28Where magic happens.
Japan-0004Lastly, time to take you guys to Kawasaki where night drifting is very popular.
  Japan-0009

Japan-0011I would love to visit VIP aftermarket shops when I go to Japan next year.
  Japan-0345

Japan-0402Cheaaaaa
Japan-5180Magician drift team is famous in the drifting scene. These guys definitely know how to go sideways.
  Japan-5228AHHH
  Japan-5326Check out the crowd.

Harro! So many events are coming up and I'm sure many of you guys planned out everything; either showing your car or attending an event. I've been so out of the scene, I don't know what is what these days. All I know is that Wekfest is this Saturday, Autocon will be on June 1st, and SpoCom, Motion Auto Show, etc. etc. will be happening soon. I will be attending a few, so spot me! Well today, I was looking through my facebook fanpage, checked out some blogs to see what was new in the scene, and browsed through my phone to see what kind of cars I spotted this year. If you follow me on Instagram (@wlee87), you probably saw most of the photos I'll be posting up today, but if not, then check it out! By the way, the photos were taken with my Galaxy Note II (Note ROCKS!), so don't expect crazy ass photos.

The car you see up there is a 1998 Benz S600 owned by my good friend Dino. It is rocking Brabus Monoblock IIIs and a full Wald kit. Windows are tinted (dark as fuk), trunk area was wrapped, as well as the sides, etc. Not sure what he will do next, but if you want to see it, just come to koreatown (^_^)v

  20130122_181835
Spotted this gorgeous AMG on Catalina and 6th Street where Spot Coffee is. Dino and I were together and we were staring at this car for a long time. Loved the sound!
20130217_110804I remember seeing this FRS at Little Tokyo when I went to Daikokuya. The fitment was gorgeous. I think it is on the Five Axis kit. If not, help me out here.
20130302_141128Ouf! I've seen this car a few times in ktown. A McLaren mp4-12c cruising on 6th street.

  20130316_151543
A Maserati!

  20130322_204851
When I was at a birthday party at Teum (틈), this guy was smoking Lamborghini cigs, so I had to take a pic.

20130413_185300First time ever seeing an Audi R8 in Koreatown. What surprised me was when I saw a 16 year old looking boy driving this car (o_o)
20130420_202827Another shot of Dino's car before heading to Gaam Lounge.
  20130519_124015Looked clean, so SNAP!
IMG_20121213_193323After eating KBBQ at Hae Jang Chon, I spotted this Benz on aftermarket wheels. Didn't look bad.

AutoCon (67 of 95)

What a week of excitement. Since the day I met up with special people few weeks ago, I was looking forward to attend one of the biggest events in California; AutoCon. If you have been active in the car scene, then you know the history of AutoCon. This particular show started out at an underground parking structure few years ago. It was definitely a huge success, considering many shows not having a huge crowd of automotive enthusiasts. Since then, the show gradually moved its location to a bigger venue, having more than hundreds of people and cars in attendance.

As mentioned above, the special people were Justin and Nate, the hosts of AutoCon. We, including my friend John Zhang (1013mm), had a long discussion about the goal and purpose of AutoCon and I couldn't be more pleased with what they had to say. It wasn't all about the 'success' or 'money', but bringing together all the enthusiasts at one place to express their 'passion' for cars. If you check out AutoCon's official website, you will know that their next event will be at a different state. It's just a start for AutoCon and they might be hosting an event at your state in the near future.

Last Saturday, AutoCon's first event of this year was held at Santa Anita Park, California. I believe this was the same location where AutoCon was held last year, but because of my busy schedule that time, our contributor Nick Schultz attended to do a coverage for my blog. This year, I just had to make it, even though I had work early in the morning.

  AutoCon (2 of 95)

I had a busy schedule on Friday, so I was a bit worried waking up early in the morning. There is a club organization called AL Party that I am promoting for, and that event ended at 3:30am. I came back to my pad, slept for only 3 hours, and headed out to AutoCon with my boy Edgar Lozoya, the editor/contributor for my blog. Yea...I was hungover like hell, but stayed awake by slapping myself several times. Upon arrival, I spotted a team that I haven't seen since my last attendance at a car show. R-Rydes recruited more spectacular cars.
AutoCon (1 of 95)Gorgeous Blue G on SBC finished SSRs.
AutoCon (3 of 95)Veilside NSX that was seen at HIN last year.
AutoCon (4 of 95)That CF hood on the GT-R looked exotic.
AutoCon (5 of 95)Ahhhhh!!!! A huge fan of Wald Black Bison kits.
AutoCon (6 of 95)I'll be back with this Liberty Walk M3.
AutoCon (7 of 95)Edgar and I arrived when all the cars were beginning to stage, so I'll start off with some cars that we encountered at the entrance. Here is a Genesis Couple on White Volk TE37s. These wheels will never die.
  AutoCon (8 of 95)Dropped on AG M560s.
AutoCon (9 of 95)This classic Z looked really familiar. I found out it was Kevin Yeung, owner of the White Varis Evo.
AutoCon (10 of 95)Buddy Club repping FRS.
AutoCon (11 of 95)Gawd dam...look at those concaved Rotiforms. Bright as fuk.
AutoCon (12 of 95)Good to see Mike's Job Design GS. If you saw this car last year, it was White with some Black highlights. This time, Mike decided to change its car color to Red. I believe it was wrapped.
AutoCon (13 of 95)Back to this M3. I've been out in the scene for quite a long time now, so I have no idea how this car was made, but I do know it was worked on at LTMW (known to be LTBMW). Not too long ago, it was supercharged! Vroom~ If you don't know about this widebody kit, it was made by Liberty Walk LB Performance.
  AutoCon (14 of 95)Seen this guy somewhere...maybe at Gaam....or at LTMW....haha John Zhang's (1013mm) 1 series on SSRs.
AutoCon (15 of 95)At Toyo Tires booth, I spotted a car I have shot few years ago. The owner is a good friend of mine, but he didn't attend the show. What you see is a Do-Luck widebody Evo 9. It was Black on Top Secret TE37s, White on Red TE37s, and now, White on Takata Green TE37s.
AutoCon (16 of 95)David's changed S2000. Love it!
AutoCon (17 of 95)One of the few Rocket Bunny FRSs I saw at AutoCon. It was my second time seeing an actual Rocket Bunney FRS, but I have seen plenty online.
AutoCon (18 of 95)Was this classic BMW Blue before? Forgot...
AutoCon (19 of 95)Drive M7 with their FRSs.
AutoCon (20 of 95)Ouf, such a clean Lexus SC. Looks like it is ready to drift.
  AutoCon (21 of 95)Royal Flush.
AutoCon (22 of 95)Where were you Ray???
AutoCon (23 of 95)Another shot of Royal Flush.
AutoCon (25 of 95)Job Design!!! Looking forward to attend SpoCom.
AutoCon (26 of 95)Line of sexy wheels. Guess them from right to left.
AutoCon (27 of 95)Clean clean clean.
AutoCon (28 of 95)I remember the owner re-locating the intercooler.
AutoCon (29 of 95)Chris Davidson change cars almost every 6 months. Glad he picked this S4. The rear-fitment was right on.
  AutoCon (30 of 95)Randy's famous G.
  AutoCon (31 of 95)Y'all know this ride..right?
  AutoCon (32 of 95)

AutoCon (33 of 95)Once again, the Veilside NSX.
  AutoCon (34 of 95)Slammed!
AutoCon (35 of 95)Fuk yea! Look at that camber!!! Props! *pounds chest x2*
  AutoCon (36 of 95)

AutoCon (54 of 95)What was unique about this FRS compared to all the other widebody ones, was that this one had the LuxMotion kit molded, rather than riveted. It was different, but what I did not favor was the positive camber in the front. I might be wrong, but I saw more than 5 cars with positive camber in the front, just to make the fitment look right. :/
  AutoCon (55 of 95)

AutoCon (37 of 95)Widebody kit from Liberty Walk?
AutoCon (39 of 95)LTMW repping BMW.
AutoCon (40 of 95)3 series on dark blue CCWs.
AutoCon (41 of 95)Courtney's sexy ride on SSRs.
AutoCon (43 of 95)Check out that color combo (o_o)
AutoCon (44 of 95)Liberty Walk inspired?
AutoCon (45 of 95)Love clean cars.
AutoCon (46 of 95)A lot of R35s attended at AutoCon.
AutoCon (47 of 95)I love the Spoon hardtop for S2000s.
AutoCon (48 of 95)More cars were coming in.
  AutoCon (49 of 95)Catchy!
AutoCon (51 of 95)Luigi went with a whole different look with his S2000.
  AutoCon (50 of 95)How legit!

AutoCon (52 of 95)Cars representing 88 Rotors.

AutoCon (53 of 95)Good to see Armand again. This car is famous all around the world. I'm sure you remember his car being on Work Meisters, but he decided to go with a different look, changing the wheels to Blitz.
  Japan-100952I drooled.....
AutoCon (57 of 95)Told you John and Courtney that I was going to post this photo on my blog :)
  AutoCon (58 of 95)Can I have a Ferrari?....please???
AutoCon (59 of 95)Will be my next next car....my next car will be a secret :)
AutoCon (60 of 95)Another shot of that Rocket Bunny FRS.
AutoCon (61 of 95)One of the FRSs that competed at SEMA's Scion Tuner Challenge last year.
AutoCon (62 of 95)You have to see the wrap on this car in person. It has this bluish pearlish metallicish...anyways..you get the point.
  AutoCon (63 of 95)Classic!
AutoCon (64 of 95)Ouf! One tough looking Chrysler 300C.
  AutoCon (65 of 95)

AutoCon (68 of 95)RHD FD2.
AutoCon (69 of 95)Right or left?
AutoCon (70 of 95)Fitted BMW wagon.
AutoCon (71 of 95)Lerry's ride representing ARK Performance. How come out of all the events this year, I didn't see you at this one...I HATE YOU!

AutoCon (73 of 95)Another G from RAREDJM that also got supercharged.
  AutoCon (75 of 95)

AutoCon (74 of 95)Like a boss!
AutoCon (77 of 95)More Euros were rolling in.
AutoCon (78 of 95)Love this car. I believe it belongs to the owner of The Chronicles.
  AutoCon (79 of 95)Sup~Sup~Supra!
AutoCon (80 of 95)Mike's famous NSX on Goldies. MY EYES!!!!!!!!!!!!
  AutoCon (81 of 95)Steve didn't bring his R35. No idea why, but he drove-in with a M5.
AutoCon (82 of 95)Every time I see a NSX, I look at it for more than 5 minutes. No joke.
Japan-105736Everyone knows this car :) Robert got 1st place for the Finest FR-S/BRZ.
AutoCon (84 of 95)No idea who this car belonged to, until I saw a arm that was as big as my face. Good seeing you Vincent!
AutoCon (85 of 95)Now...I told you guys my next next car will be a NSX, but why is it that every time I see a Supra, I change my mind...shit.
AutoCon (86 of 95)Old school baby!

AutoCon (90 of 95)Carl Carl Carl....you amazed me...
AutoCon (91 of 95)Luxury Abstract for the win.
AutoCon (92 of 95)This was around 11:30am and cars were still rolling in.
AutoCon (93 of 95)JP's Cressida on BBSs. Still love it JP. By the way, you gotta change tires son!
  AutoCon (94 of 95)

AutoCon (95 of 95)Glad I got to see Ojay's Estima. Such a fresh look and change.

If I didn't have work on the day of AutoCon, I would have stayed until the end, but because I had to take care of important business, I had to leave early. It was really good seeing all you guys that I haven't seen for about a year. I saw some crews/teams while walking around, but I had to finish my coverage in a short amount of time, so hope you guys understand. Also, I want to apologize for the shitty photos. When I woke up on Saturday to check my DSLR, the camera was so fuked up! Images were full of dust. That's when I decided to use my Note II phone. I promise you guys that the next event I attend will be covered with a better camera. Thank you guys for checking out my coverage. Have a great week and see you fans soon!

AX (2 of 61)

There will always be a group of fans for a certain field of entertainment. I'm sure some of you guys looking at my blog right now is a car fanatic, or should I say, just a fan of cars. But more than cars today, I want to share a coverage that is totally irrelevant to the automotive world. Actually, I wouldn't say "totally" because Itasha involve cars being dressed up with anime characters. Back to what I wanted to say, last week, I attended one of the biggest Anime conventions called Anime Expo with our editor Kain Chau. It was like 2 years ago when I first went to this event with Nick Schultz, Kain Chau, David Izrailov, and a few others. I was always a huge fan of Anime and wanted to attend Anime Expo. The only Anime I watch is Naruto and Bleach, so I was pretty stoked to see people dressed up as Ichigo, Naruto, Kakashi, etc. That was back then and for this year, I wanted to check out what was new to the Anime world.

This event goes on for 4 days and every single day, you'll be in a massive crowd of people doing cosplay. The weather was hot as fuk and it was even more hotter inside the convention because of the amount of people, but I tried to stay as long as possible to capture awesome moments with Kain. I attended on Thursday (July 4, 2013) and Saturday and took a lot of shots, but before I post my own photos, I will be sharing Kain's because he was with me throughout the whole time and what he captured was pretty much what I captured. Let's get on with the coverage.

AX (4 of 61)

Now before I officially start writing nonsense, please do understand that the only Anime I watch is Naruto and Bleach, so I do not know jack about certain characters. I have no idea what character these girls were dressed up as, but I saw a poster of some girls in a tank, driving like a boss.
  AX (5 of 61)

Inside the hall, we bumped into these guys. Reminds me of my friend Luigi.
AX (6 of 61)Last year, Toyota had several cars displayed inside the convention center, but for this year, this was the only "car" we found.

AX (7 of 61)
It's that princess from Mario!
  AX (8 of 61)Cool cosplay.
AX (11 of 61)I don't remember bumping into this girl. Probably Kain dosed off for a bit.

AX (12 of 61)
I remember this girl. She looked really sad playing the Violin.

AX (14 of 61)
Kain bumped into his friends and we actually chilled together for a bit.
AX (15 of 61)Cheese what? Right down the convention center is a place with restaurants. We went to a baller one called Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill. The prices weren't that insane and the food was pretty good. Thanks to Kain again for buying us lunch.
  AX (17 of 61)Hi

AX (18 of 61)
Shit...I got fat.....
AX (19 of 61)Staples Center! GO LAKERS! and please fukin win in the next season....please...
AX (20 of 61)I'm pretty dam sure this guy was sweating a lot. It was like 90 degrees on this day.
AX (21 of 61)Guy on the Bike was riding back and forth and stopped a few people to take pictures.

AX (24 of 61)

AX (25 of 61) copy
Best cosplay on Thursday goes to this person. I have no idea if it was a girl or guy, but assuming it was a guy, he had like some springs on his feet and jumped like a grasshopper.
AX (26 of 61)Checking out that grasshopper thingy.
AX (27 of 61)Guy at the right, sorry that Kain took a picture of you :)

VIP (9 of 46)

Being in the scene for more than 2 years now, I have encountered numerous "types" of cars; from track to fitted, almost everything in the scene today. Of course I appreciate every type ...except ones that have fake intercoolers and fake blow-off valves that make your car look like piece of shit :) One style I really loved from the beginning were VIP style cars. Many might think VIP cars are all about slamming them to the ground with extreme fitment, but let me tell you, there is much more to it.

The debate about VIP style has been going on forever. Personally, I don't think there is an exact definition of VIP style. If there was a standard for what a VIP style car should be, then I'm pretty dam sure almost every car out there that fixes up their car in a VIP style way would be all the same. I personally think the "details" make up a VIP style car.

Well today, this coverage post is not to discuss about what is VIP style or not, but to show you guys how strong the VIP community is in Japan by posting up a coverage of one of the biggest VIP car shows called Sessions Platinum VIP, a show that is hosted by a VIP shop called Sessions. Like always, the show was held at Fuji Speedway. You will encounter numerous cars here and will realize the people in this show have a passion for VIP style cars. I have looked through the pictures Charles sent me last week and was shocked to see some of these cars going over the limit of fitment and the details that were put into it.

VIP (2 of 46)I know some of you guys are saying, "the car is ruined" "how can you drive that" and etc. If you don't know anything about VIP style, then you shouldn't be judging and act like you know everything. People who understand VIP style will know what I'm talking about :)
VIP (3 of 46)Back to our coverage, Sessions Platinum VIP show has been going on for many years. Many people bring out their VIP rides and every year, you will see new people and new cars here and there.
VIP (4 of 46)I never understood why so many people outside of Japan disliked VIP style. But I think the appreciation for VIP has been gradually increasing.
VIP (5 of 46)What we know as Lexus is very common in Japan that are being fixed up VIP style. I would say nearly 80% of the cars you see at VIP car shows will be either Lexus or Infiniti here in the States. This is also true in Japan, but lately, there has been many different platforms.
VIP (6 of 46)Of course, the Lexus GS or Toyota Aristo (in Japan), is a common car you'll encounter at this show.
VIP (7 of 46)Same theme as the Aristo at top, but a different model.
VIP (8 of 46)It's surprising that so much money goes in one car when it comes to styling a car in VIP style. I've talked with some people few years ago in Korea and Japan and they told me more than $100,000 was invested to make their car look like how it is today.
VIP (10 of 46)You'll realize that many of the body kits are clean or exotic. Some are just too exotic, but those kits look pretty dam good depending on what car it's on.
VIP (11 of 46)One style you'll encounter immediately is the camber on many of these cars. Here's one that isn't too much.
VIP (12 of 46)I could see the Toyota Crown at the right has extreme camber, which is known as oni-camber.
VIP (13 of 46)Ouf! those projectors make the car look 10 times better.
VIP (14 of 46)Remember about some body kits being exotic looking? Here is one that I think that has a lot of detail. I believe this one is by AimGain.
VIP (15 of 46)Having that dumped look for the rear.
VIP (16 of 46)It's amazing how some of these rides are not on air and straight-up on coilovers. The roads are so smooth in Japan, other than going over certain bumps, everything is possible. Yes, it's definitely one hell of drive if you have a car that's this low in the States.
VIP (16 of 46)When talking about going over the limit of fitment, this Crown is a perfect example. You can see by the body work done to the front fenders and rear quarter panels. Fitting deep dish rims is one style many VIP car owners do.
  VIP (18 of 46)Itasha Mark X.
  VIP (19 of 46)That color (o_o)
VIP (20 of 46)I was really amazed to see this Audi TT. Just seeing this car by picture still is amazing. When will you encounter a TT like this? If I'm not mistaken, this kit is made by Af Imp.
VIP (21 of 46)I don't see too much VIP in this, other than the extreme fitment on Volk TE37s.
VIP (22 of 46)One of my favorite rims on a VIP car? I call it a win.
VIP (23 of 46)A classic with a classic VIP look.
VIP (24 of 46)First time ever seeing this kit on an Aristo. Love the fogs and LEDs in the front bumper.
VIP (25 of 46)Extreme. Unusual to see one piece Work Meisters with a deep deep dish.
  VIP (26 of 46)EXTREME!!!
VIP (27 of 46)One thing you notice about this Aristo is the vent you see at the right. Many VIP style car owners pay attention to detail. Fender vents are cut to a unique design to fit the owner's taste.
VIP (28 of 46)Absolutely stunning with the body work on this car. The wide wheels, drop, and perfect fitment with camber.
VIP (29 of 46)An authentic look done to this beauty by Goma-Garage.
VIP (30 of 46)Definitely a VIP platform car, but it seems like this Aristo wasn't built to show but to drift.
VIP (31 of 46)Gorgeous looking kit on this Fuga.
  VIP (32 of 46)

VIP (34 of 46)

VIP (33 of 46)So much detail on this Celsior. I don't even know what to say.
VIP (39 of 46)Love the color of this Aristo.
  VIP (40 of 46)What a scene.
VIP (41 of 46)Couples in Pink!
VIP (42 of 46)Pretty sure the fenders and quarter panels were worked on, but this one isn't exotic like the other ones you've seen at top.
VIP (43 of 46)Different model, but same theme.
  VIP (44 of 46)Bye bye.
VIP (45 of 46)Thumbs up to you sir! Those Work Meisters!!!
VIP (46 of 46)At first, I didn't favor the look of this car, but my mind sort of changed once I saw it like 5 times.
VIP (1 of 46)Not a common car to see in the streets of Japan.
VIP (35 of 46)Good to see BBS LMs. I'm sure there will be more cars in Part 2 with these wheels.
VIP (36 of 46)Simply fitted. I heard from Charles that everyone had a good time. You can see that by the expression of the guys in the car.
VIP (37 of 46)Ok..maybe not the guy sitting at the back.
VIP (38 of 46)A clean car, clean look, clean fitment.

I'll be back with Part 2. See you guys soon!

golf 3 Once in a while, I like to bring you guys something simple, yet surprising. I know there aren't many "stance" or "fitment" fans today in the scene, but for those who actually appreciate it, the support and love goes on forever. As a stance fan myself, I wanted to feature this clean Golf R shot by our contributors Dan Purpura and Jim Davis. This car comes all the way from Chicago and the story beings right now.

  Volkswagen Golf R

Recently, it's been difficult to distinguish if a car is on air or coilovers. Here in the States, the road condition is not as horrible as where some of you guys live, but many of us in California have been switching to air ride just to go over horrific bumps or potholes that are encountered almost every 100 feet. I'm pretty sure the owner of this car thought the same way as most of extremely dropped car owners.
  golf 6

golf4As you can see from the side, the fitment is nearly perfect.
  golf 5

golf1Dropped on a kit by BagRiders are a set of custom colored CCW Classics in custom candy purple.
Volkswagen Golf RNot an extreme stretch to the tires, but the importance of slight tuck under the fenders and rear quarter panels make the drop look gorgeous.
golf2Just to add a little spice to the look of the car, a bike rack was added on.
  golf rig

Volkswagen Golf RSimple, clean, and sexy.

Thanks again to Jim and Dan.

Night Import: Photography by All That Low (Charles Zee Zayas) | Words by William Lee

Hellaflush (46 of 65)

Welcome back to Night Import everyone. It's been a while for me as well to log into my blog and write an actual event coverage haha. Hope everyone is doing well. A lot of shit happened here in the States and I have no idea what the hell is going on. Government shutdown, Obama, Chicken, etc. I know none of this is related to my coverage today, but I just hope everyone is safe and having a good life ya kno?

Few days ago, my boy Charles sent a bunch of photos that were taken at several places. He's been pretty dam busy heading to meets and even hosting his own one. He messaged me few days ago about his meet and told me it was a huge success. I remember back in the days when I had my own meet and more than 300 cars showed up! It was pretty much the same story for Charles. You'll be seeing some cars repping All That Low (Charles's site) throughout this coverage.

Charles covered Hellaflush Japan at Fuji Speedway. As many of you guys know, Fatlace started this event and every single year, the amount of cars that participated increased tremendously. Many of you guys were probably inspired by the flush scene in Japan, but what is pretty interesting is that many car owners in Japan follow the trend or style here in our country. Let's get on with the coverage so that you guys can see it for yourselves.

Hellaflush (1 of 65)Getting ready for the show. When I was in the scene, I focused on my wheels more than anything on my car lol.
  Hellaflush (2 of 65)

Hellaflush (4 of 65)Not so common to see a flush NSX. Personally, I wouldn't go this low IF I had one.
Hellaflush (64 of 65)At the corner, Charles spotted a S13 and FRS (Toyota 86) next to each other.
Hellaflush (7 of 65)Very awesome. Seems like the owner is a huge fan of Speedhunters or the guys from Speedhunters built this car.
Hellaflush (8 of 65)Very unique with the stance. You can see the rears tucking-in, but the fronts are actually higher than the rear. I'm guessing it is the kit/lip at the front that made the owner think "i'm going to break my lip if I go too low."
Hellaflush (9 of 65)Rocking some new Rays wheels. You can't really see the wheels, but I can tell by looking at the spokes from the side.
Hellaflush (10 of 65)Now this is the new Rocket Bunny V2 kit for the FRS/86. This kit might be the next popular one for many FRS owners, because I saw A LOT..and I mean A LOTTT of FRSs rocking the first Rocket Bunny kit.
Hellaflush (11 of 65)Ouf! Very sexy. Anyone know the kit?
  Hellaflush (12 of 65)Simply done S2000 on Enkei RPF1s.
  Hellaflush (13 of 65)Catchy colors.
Hellaflush (14 of 65)Definitely looks like the Rocket Bunny kit on this S13. it is the wing and rivets that give it off.
Hellaflush (15 of 65)OUUUUUU!!! Would love to have this car in my garage. I read a comment on Charle's fanpage about this car not being a "real" one.
Hellaflush (16 of 65)Hakosuka!! White White! Mine Mine!
Hellaflush (17 of 65)Are those Diamond Racing wheels???
Hellaflush (18 of 65)Nicely and cleanly done.
  Hellaflush (19 of 65)Pretty packed.
Hellaflush (20 of 65)Old school baby.
Hellaflush (21 of 65)Loving the rear-end of this kit. If I had a FRS, I wouldn't complete the kit with the wing because it will be an eye catcher to cops.
  Hellaflush (23 of 65)Ah!! RWB!!!
  Hellaflush (24 of 65)Absolutely flawless.
Hellaflush (25 of 65)If you guys had a 911, would you choose RWB?
  Hellaflush (26 of 65)RWB family!
  Hellaflush (27 of 65)Tough, Rough.
Hellaflush (28 of 65)Fuuuu someone give me some info on this beauty.
  Hellaflush (29 of 65)People + cars = Win
Hellaflush (30 of 65)Hmm...the Red Z at the back is getting my attention.
Hellaflush (31 of 65)Love the fitment on this wagon.
Hellaflush (32 of 65)I know many of you guys are not a fan of Skylines being slammed to the ground. I love it.
Hellaflush (33 of 65)Less slammed. This R34 would look GORGEOUS if the kit was painted and completed.
Hellaflush (34 of 65)Few STis that I know of that are slammed to the ground in the States.
  Hellaflush (35 of 65)So clean!
  Hellaflush (36 of 65)Hop hop.
Hellaflush (37 of 65)O my gawddddddddddd so nice. Volk TE37s on a Skyline matches perfectly.
Hellaflush (38 of 65)I'm not a fan of this color, as well as the wheels, but I'm sure a lot of time was put-in to this Z.
Hellaflush (39 of 65)Wow. Haven't seen BBS RSs in a long time. Yea..I know..I don't check out car blogs as much as I used to...
  Hellaflush (40 of 65)On a hellaflush date.
Hellaflush (42 of 65)"Come this way! Your spot is here!"
Hellaflush (43 of 65)Those exhaust pipes! You can probably kill someone with them.
Hellaflush (44 of 65)Hmmmm this S15 looks very familiar...
. Hellaflush (45 of 65)Drift?
  Hellaflush (47 of 65)Thinking.....
Hellaflush (48 of 65)This Aristo fits my taste. Check out the details on this beauty. Projectors, side mirror LEDs, etc.
Hellaflush (49 of 65)Who is down to drift tonight.
Hellaflush (50 of 65)Yes Yes Yes! A good example of how to make an old car look clean.
  Hellaflush (51 of 65)TE37SLs .

Hellaflush (52 of 65)More cars rolling in.
Hellaflush (53 of 65)and the line gets longer.
Hellaflush (54 of 65)Pretty sure these guys were having fun.
Hellaflush (55 of 65)Kids, let's go to school!
  Hellaflush (56 of 65)Nicely done RPS13.
Hellaflush (57 of 65)Those wheels look like Garsons!
Hellaflush (58 of 65)Nice Nice Nice Nice Nice.
Hellaflush (60 of 65)Always good to see clean cars.
  Hellaflush (61 of 65)Sick.
Hellaflush (62 of 65)This mini-van was rocking Charles's blog decal! Awesome man!
Hellaflush (65 of 65)Ending it with an oldy but a goody.

Hope you guys enjoyed the photos covered by Charles! We'll definitely be back with more coverages and features. Have a great day! and why the fuk is it raining in California today! ARGH!

Night Import: Photos by Kain Chau | Words by William Lee and Kain Chau

SEMA2013 (113 of 144)

Every year in Sin City, also known as Las Vegas, a "premier automotive specialty products trade" event is held at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Only those who are involved in the automotive industry are allowed to enter and not only will you be surrounded by a bunch of people, but also with the best modified cars in the world. I don't know where to start with my story with SEMA. I think my first attendance to SEMA was....3 years ago? That time period was when I barley got into the car scene, but I was very active here in California. Probably that is one of the reasons why I got accepted to enter SEMA with a few buddies of mine. I remember how amazed I was when I saw the cars because it was nowhere near to the cars I have seen at shows or meets.

Although I haven't been to the SEMA show since then, I always expected SEMA to get better. I mean...the most issued car for every year gets the spotlight at SEMA. For example, last year, Scion FRS and Subaru BRZ was the car that got the spotlight. Hundreds of modified FRSs and BRZs were displayed, as well as other cars, but I don't remember :) This year, I was expecting the same as last year.

Because of my work schedule that has been getting hectic, I couldn't take a week off to attend SEMA and I was going CRAZY! Getting media credentials was not a problem, but because I couldn't attend, I needed someone from our staffs to cover the event. Luckily, my boy Kain (editor) took 2-3 days off from work, drove to Vegas with his beautiful FRS, and covered the event like a boss. He did not have a camera in hand, so the photos you are about to see was taken with a cellphone.

SEMA2013 (1 of 144)

Here is what Kain had to say about this years SEMA show:

"I don't really get a chance to speak out very much to those Night Import fans out there so I'm glad to be able to post today. Getting a chance to visit SEMA is definitely an honor this year. It's not every year I get to attend a show like this especially for those in the industry. It is so much different attending an event like this which is so diverse in the automotive community. From imports to domestics, classics to modern, cars to vans; this is the show of shows. Sure, it's great being able to view the entire show in the comfort of your own home but so different viewing a build up close and personal. The sheer volume of cars is just phenomenal by itself. I constantly keep forgetting about the size of the event which literally spans for days to view just about everything. And it's not just the quantity of cars but the build quality that many many owners have who stand just one step above the crowd. This is what makes SEMA awesome every year."

SEMA2013 (2 of 144)

Many of you guys might not know about SEMA. It isn't easy to explain. The cars that are displayed at the event needs to go through a few requirements. It's not like a meet or car show where you can take your car, park it wherever you want to, and just see people walking by and checking your car. I would say many of it has to do with connections or your car needs to be spectacular that it would grab everyones attention. A lot of my friends had the opportunity to enter SEMA with their cars. They have spent numerous days to modify their cars. Their time and sweat is what makes them a candidate to enter SEMA. Not only individuals, but car shops as well.
    SEMA2013 (3 of 144)

You will also see cars with the newest kits in the market today. This GT-R R35 has the BenSopra kit, which was one of the most talked-about kit last year. Seeing this in person would've been an unforgettable site.
  SEMA2013 (4 of 144)

How about some rough classics?
  SEMA2013 (5 of 144)

Liberty Walk is hitting the US market really strong this year. If it is your first time hearing about them, Liberty Walk, also known as LB Performance, is a Japanese tuning company known for their wide-body builds. Even though they are from Japan, their focus has been strong for European cars.
  SEMA2013 (6 of 144)

SEMA2013 (7 of 144)

How about some front Aero.
  SEMA2013 (8 of 144)

First time seeing this rough looking small beast.
  SEMA2013 (9 of 144)

Now, I clearly remember seeing this car at SEMA 2 years ago, but can't recall the name of it. I also remember there was a debate about this car being the "real" model. I might be wrong though.
  SEMA2013 (10 of 144)

Track monster.
  SEMA2013 (11 of 144)

I have never been a huge fan of McClaren back in the days, but recently, it's been growing on me.
  SEMA2013 (12 of 144)

Sitting properly and light as f*ck.
  SEMA2013 (13 of 144)

Not a fan of the "tuck-in" look, but mad props for fixing up an Odyssey.
   SEMA2013 (14 of 144)

Go Green.
   SEMA2013 (15 of 144)

Here is the Gran Turismo concept Corvette Stingray. What do you guys think about this car?
   SEMA2013 (19 of 144)

SEMA2013 (20 of 144)

Awesome to see a FRS with a Vortech Supercharger.
   SEMA2013 (21 of 144)

Holy hell. I forgot the brand of the hood you guys see here, but it is one of my favorites.
  SEMA2013 (22 of 144)

Evo on Gram Lights.
  SEMA2013 (23 of 144)

The wheel and brake combo on this FRS is spectacular.
  SEMA2013 (24 of 144)

I choose the one at the far right...if you know what I mean :)
  SEMA2013 (25 of 144)

Like every year at SEMA, Scion puts on an event called Scion Tuner Challenge. I don't exactly know how the competition starts, but there are 3 Scions that go on head-to-head.
  SEMA2013 (26 of 144)

Colors are always catchy when it comes to the challenge.
  SEMA2013 (27 of 144)

SEMA2013 (28 of 144)

Personally, my favorite. Congrats to the winner.
  SEMA2013 (29 of 144)

F U C K yea. Ken Gushi's newly built FRS.
  SEMA2013 (32 of 144)

SEMA2013 (33 of 144)

No way..really????? Why wasn't it displayed when I went to sema.... :(
  SEMA2013 (34 of 144)

Another FRS sponsored by Gram Lights.
  SEMA2013 (35 of 144)

Is this the 1000hp car?
  SEMA2013 (36 of 144)

Hmm..not too fond about the wide look.
   SEMA2013 (37 of 144)

Approve the matte look.
  SEMA2013 (38 of 144)

You will be mine one day.
  SEMA2013 (39 of 144)

Just a shot.
  SEMA2013 (40 of 144)

CUSCO! Love you guys.
  SEMA2013 (41 of 144)

Well...seems like Kain was interested more to the girl.
  SEMA2013 (42 of 144)

Cusco's FRS is all about track.
  SEMA2013 (43 of 144)

I was always a fan of the Viper.
  SEMA2013 (44 of 144)

What kit is this?
  SEMA2013 (46 of 144)

Nope..too catchy.
  SEMA2013 (48 of 144)

CF hood....hmmm...I used to think CF hoods were the shit back in the days...
  SEMA2013 (49 of 144)

Now this is how you manage a classic.
  SEMA2013 (51 of 144)

Sitting on some stiff H&Rs.
  SEMA2013 (52 of 144)

Like Scion, Lexus also had a challenge/competition. From all the info I received, the winner was this 2014 Lexus IS, designed by Robert Evans. Check out the wide look. The rear is even crazier than the front.
  SEMA2013 (56 of 144)

SEMA2013 (57 of 144)

RocketBunny FRS.
  SEMA2013 (60 of 144)

I have to say this LS is one of the best ones here in the States. I'm sure you guys already know about it. Yes, it belongs to the owner of Stance Nation, Elvis.
  SEMA2013 (58 of 144)

Mad props to Elvis on building this flawlessly.
  SEMA2013 (61 of 144)

SEMA2013 (63 of 144)

I remember seeing this car 2 years ago. Let's just say the build ab~~~~solutely awesome.
  SEMA2013 (65 of 144)

SEMA2013 (107 of 144)It's time to show you guys are Part 2 coverage on SEMA 2013. I've been really busy, so once again, my apology with the late update on my blog. I have a lot things to share with you guys throughout this month. But before I get to those articles, the second coverage on SEMA will be shared first :)

If you guys didn't check out our Part 1 coverage, I've mentioned that SEMA is an event where you will see the finest modified cars around the world. Even cars out of the States come down to SEMA, just to get that special attention from spectators, aftermarket companies, and others that are strongly related to the automotive scene. One of the cars that got that attention was the car you guys see above; Job Design's Lexus. I'll get back to it pretty soon, so let's get on with the coverage.

TAS14 (29 of 77)

Hello everyone! Ok..I don't want to act like this is my first blog post.. WSUP GUYS!!!! Long time no see. I actually forgot to add coverage on an event in Japan that happened few months ago, so I'll postpone that one and start with a fresh one, actually, a first blog post for the year of 2014. I'm pretty sure many of you guys were looking forward to see NI's coverage on Tokyo Auto Salon, because we had a good amount of comments and feedback for our 2012 Tokyo Auto Salon coverage.

Like usual, our boy Charles in Japan participated at this year's TAS and he had a lot to say about it. According to Charles, the cars were phenomenal and the people were really awesome, other than what he had to say about the waiting in line haha. You guys will see what he had to say about the event in a bit, but before that, I want to share my thoughts about this year's TAS, even though I did not have the time to attend.

I've been keeping myself updated with almost every event that happens around the world. I can't say which event was the best because every event had its own taste of cars. Today's post is about TAS, so let's talk about that. Here in the States, the FRS and BRZ were the cars that got the most attention. It was the same in Japan, but a lot more kits and other parts were introduced for the Toyota 86 as well as for other make/models. If you guys know of SEMA, you can think of TAS being the Japan version of SEMA. It's all about modified cars and newly introduced car parts, such as wheels, coilovers, body kits, etc. being displayed for those who attend the event. I'm not only talking about FRSs and BRZs, but other JDM cars and even European cars that are also introduced/showcased with new parts. In a company's perspectives, they attend TAS to stock up JDM parts or make contracts with widely known companies such as Top Secret, Varis, Amuse, etc., but for bloggers like us, we capture the details of almost every modified cars that is in attendance. Here is what Charles had to say about the event. After you guys read it, we will start with the coverage.

By the way, we are going to do something different compared to all the other blogs that did a coverage on TAS 2014. Today, we will show you guys most of the spotted White cars by Charles.
2014 is here and I want to thank Night Import for one, bringing me up in this game, and two, for allowing me the opportunity to show my content here. Friday morning, I woke up at 6am to catch a bus from Yokohama Station to head to TAS Press DAY. Upon arrival, I was highly disappointed as it seemed they let every nut in the place who said they were "PRESS". I'm not special or anything but trying to provide you guys through Night Import is special enough for me. But the old weirdo's with video cameras and huge DSLR's pointed directly into the model faces and trying to get up-skirt photos is just not what press day is for me. But I hear there is a market to push photos like that. I myself don’t have the time and patience to sit there and battle for lead position to take a photo of a chick I don’t even know. Haha. However, the event itself was actually not bad. This year, I had a plan set out in the AM, but with the amount of people allowed in before the Public opening at 1pm I was limited to what I can shoot. I know I spread the word of Night Import and my own blog Allthatlow so I hope to do some shop visits and more event coverage. I appreciate everyone's support with both of our blogs. Please follow us for more content from across that big ocean. Japan. I'm out -Zee-

TAS14 (30 of 77) An outside shot of Oimachi Center.

TAS14 (31 of 77)It might seem as if no one was present at whatever time Charles arrived...

TAS14 (32 of 77)But think again! Charles told me he had wait for a quite long time to enter the show rooms.

TAS14 (11 of 77)One of the very well-known companies that relate strongly to the track scene in Japan is Top Fuel. I've read some amazing history about this company and I was astonished. As you can see in this picture, the S2000 looks aggressive and pretty dam fast.

TAS14 (10 of 77)Well if you didn't know, this is the S2000 built by both Top Fuel and Voltex. I believe this is the S2000 that participated in WTAC 2013. There has been some major upgrades to this beauty, and if I'm not mistaken, it will be participating in many events for this year.

TAS14 (35 of 77)I have seen some amazing kits for the FRS, but haven't seen one made by Aimgain. Aimgain is a company that focus on sedans, or should I say VIP cars, but I would say it is a rare case for them to build a kit for the FRS (or Toyota 86). I love how aggressive the kit looks and the flow of the car on Work Meisters is just gorgeous.

TAS14 (59 of 77)
TAS14 (60 of 77)Ah! Here it is! Bulletproof Automotive's Varis FRS. I remember when Ben (owner of Bulletproof) contacted me about his build and I couldn't wait until he revealed it to the public. I don't know how to explain this car, because there is so much to say about it! If I had to choose Top 5 FRSs in CA, this one will definitely make it to the top.
TAS14 (20 of 77)Don't you just love that look?

TAS14 (19 of 77)I always wondered.....if I had enough money, would I buy a Lamborghini....

The aggressive stance and those titanium exhaust tips make me drool...

What company fenders are those?

Rocket Bunny + Ben Sopra 380SX. What a collaboration! This beauty was showed at the Option booth.

Wurde Japan with their Porsche Panamera.

What should I say more? R34. Done. Game Over.

A legend/classic.

Nothing wrong to see a very clean modified classic.
  Hamann goes hard with SUVs.

That drop....applause *clap* *clap* *clap*

A question mark in your head? This is the RC F GT500 race car that will compete in the GT500 class at the 2014 Japan GT series. I believe this car will also be at the Detroit Auto Show, which is going on right now.

Ouuuu a Volvo!!! Haven't seen a modified Volvo for years!

Gawd..that front..

KBREAK...let me just tell you guys...I will be back in the scene this year with a VIP car.. wait.. umm... hint hint

Hmm....DUB style? I'm not too fond with the wheels.

Is this kit by Liberty Walk? If so, this is one dam unique 370Z.

omg omg omg omg! Crown built by a VIP company called Black Pearl. This Crown is kitted with one of thei lines by Black Pearl called the Jewelry Line.

More aggressive sized wheels might've looked better.

Toyota Aristo equipped with one of my favorite kits, 326 Power.

Rocky Auto with their legendary cars...like this one...dammit....I want one... gosh..I'm getting jealous every single time I post a picture from TAS...help me...

Simply done.

Whoa...

That front.. (o_o)

Forzato...someone tell me more about this car.

mmmmMMMM???

Too much? Wild? Aggressive? Sexy? What?

The front is not my style, but I'm sure those who really love the VIP scene will like this kit.

Like I said before, always good to see a classic.

Supra!!!!! wait...umm... HUH??? haha this car is named Child Speed 660GT built by NATS and is actually a Suzuki Cappuccino. If you check out the rear, it looks similar to an actual Toyota Supra. No no, it does not have a 2JZ.

Not really related to our "theme" today, but why not some different colored cars.

O LOOK! Charles spotted some models. Time for him to check them out.

Almost there....to see their faces... probably in Charles's mind, "hmm..body ain't that bad."

Charles: "A fawk..lost focus because of this guy..."

Charles: "......................"

Charles: "fuk..i'm gonna bounce..last shot".

It would be really new to see some Vans here in the States to be fixed up like the ones in Japan. I know Ojay has a sick ass Previa, but that's the only car that I can think of right now that is genuinely modified.

HRE is such a popular company now that almost every country recognizes and appreciate their wheels.

I believe this is an all new BenSopra kit for the 350Z. For those who have a 350Z, hint hint. GET IT!

No home needed...

So...here is the Toyota 86 Toyota Griffon Concept. I read an article not too long ago (forgot the site), but if I remember correctly, Toyota actually announced that this 86 was faster than a Ferrari 458 (?) around the  Tskuba Circuit. I don't know if it was true, but if so, NICE! I remember the hood was different, so it seems like Toyota focused on the aerodynamics.

Here is Sard's GT3. Very unique!

Wondering what was going outside, but Team Orange was ready to do something. (I actually know ^_^).

Event Coverage | 2014 HKS Premium Day

Night Import: Photography by All That Low (Charles Zee Zayas) | Words by William Lee

HKS (12 of 74)

One of the most biggest events after Tokyo Auto Salon is an event held by a very well-known tuning company called HKS. I'm pretty sure for those who have been in the scene for quite a long time know this company by its reputation of high-end performance. As always, their event was held at Fuji Speedway and a good amount of spectators and participants crowded the location.

This event is not like any other events that are held in the states. I would say the only event that reminds me of both displaying your car and actually driving it on the track was Sideway Sundays. Most of the events are only known for displaying and that pretty much sums up everything when it comes to a car event. However, HKS takes its event to another level. Not only do other prestigious aftermarket companies participate at this event, but they also get an opportunity to track their car on the track, competing with each other for the fastest lap. You can pretty much tell that it's not only about the looks of your car that matters in Japan, but everything is well modified internally and externally. To experience that feeling, HKS Premium Day is a must-to-attend event in Japan.

HKS (3 of 74)On the same day of HKS Premium Day, another event was going on at the side called Drift Muscle Challenge. Charles is a huge fan of drifting so he had to check it out.

HKS (71 of 74)An Evo that looks pretty dangerous.

HKS (72 of 74)A gorgeous color combination that I believe most of you guys would appreciate.

HKS (73 of 74)You will always spot an AE86 at a drifting event. Still one of my favorite cars.

HKS (74 of 74)Not too common to see a well-modified Z in the States that has the beauty outside and inside.

HKS (1 of 74)

HKS (2 of 74)Seriously a low Skyline, but I can see this car was built to drift.

HKS (4 of 74)Wow. I haven't seen a STi for quite a long time now.

HKS (5 of 74)Checking out the track.

HKS (6 of 74)It was time for Charles to check out the cars at HKS Premium Day. Well to be more specific, HKS Car Carnival, which was another event for those to participate in. This side event was held at the upper area and it was like every other car event where they choose the best car and the winner being awarded with a prize.

HKS (8 of 74)As I have explained in our 2014 TAS coverage, BRZs and 86s was still the trend of this year.

HKS (9 of 74)That rear wing is enormous!

HKS (10 of 74)

HKS (11 of 74)I was and will always be a huge fan of Varis.

HKS (13 of 74)Having both the look and performance.

HKS (14 of 74)

HKS (15 of 74)

HKS (16 of 74)Well-built.

HKS (17 of 74)A few cars from the track had to check out the Carnival.

HKS (18 of 74)

HKS (19 of 74)

HKS (20 of 74)

HKS (22 of 74)

HKS (24 of 74)HKS (25 of 74)Let's check out the motor.

HKS (26 of 74)That's what I'm talking about!

HKS (28 of 74)

HKS (29 of 74)I'm expecting to see a few R32s this year. A lot of people who saved up money to get this car now because it became legalized to bring one over from Japan, are going pretty dam crazy right now.

HKS (30 of 74)Some participants had to take a nap.

HKS (31 of 74)

HKS (32 of 74)

HKS (33 of 74)

HKS (34 of 74)

HKS (35 of 74)Ah! The classics on a classic.

HKS (36 of 74)Good to see JUN participating at this event.

HKS (37 of 74)R32s.

HKS (38 of 74)

HKS (39 of 74)Gnarly! I believe I saw this car on a magazine cover.

HKS (40 of 74)

HKS (41 of 74)It was the first year Bulletproof made it to Japan with their car. The owner had a great experience displaying and tracking their car.

HKS (42 of 74)

HKS (43 of 74)

HKS (45 of 74)

HKS (46 of 74)

HKS (47 of 74)

HKS (48 of 74)

HKS (49 of 74)

HKS (50 of 74)Ouf. I would love to see those Work Meisters in person.

HKS (54 of 74)Those tires!

HKS (56 of 74)

HKS (57 of 74)

HKS (58 of 74)Something about this R33 caught Charles's attention.

HKS (59 of 74)Those fenders!

HKS (60 of 74)

HKS (62 of 74)Espirit!

HKS (63 of 74)

HKS (67 of 74)Someone please modify their NSX with this kit!

HKS (65 of 74)

HKS (66 of 74)And the challenge begins...

HKS (68 of 74)

It's always good to share materials organized by my man Charles. Today's coverage was mostly an eye candy rather than reading my boring captions. Hope everyone has a great day and be ready to check out or 2014 TAS coverage party 2. Bye!

Night Import: Photography by Clinton Lum | Words by William Lee

It's been a long time since I updated my blog. Yea yea, I'm going to make the same excuse like I usually do. Work & laziness lol. Well there were so many events during these past few months and one event I regret missing was Autofashion's VIP meet/event. Autofashion's meet is an awesome event to attend if you are new to the scene. The reason why this is a must-to-go meet is because a lot of cars you get to see at SEMA will be at Autofashion's meet. You will get to see (of course) VIP cars, non-VIP cars, etc. With the help of a good friend, Clinton sent me a set of photos he took at the meet. I've known Clinton for more than 2 years now and I bump into this guy so often, he's like my next door neighbor haha. Let's get on with the coverage shall we?

Looking through the set of photos, it seems like Autofashion did their meet at HRE wheels. If you are a wheel fanatic, then I'm pretty dam sure you know about HRE.

This fitment is pretty common in the VIP scene. You'll be some more cars with crazy fitment while scrolling down.

Gorgeously done. This is a Lexus GS, also called an Aristo.

Side-by-side.

Hmm...not digging this look, but the color of the car is nice :)

Definitely not in the crowd of VIP cars, but seems like the owner is into drifting.

Zip-ties for the win.

Ah~~~ VIP heaven.

Gawd those wheels look nice.

White on White? O yes.

Mmm~Mmmmm~MMmmmmmm

Loving those JP (Junction Produce) wheels.

Clean!!

OUF! Lovely!!!

I'm a monster when it comes to drinking, but for some reason, sake doesn't fit my taste. I get wasted after drinking half a bottle lol.

Tucked!

White on White again. Seems like those wheels are Work XD9s.

I would love to have a ruckus like this.

An NSX I saw pretty often when I was in the scene.

Yes

Seven stars...never tried those.

Ouu~ I can see those diamond stitched interior.

Ojay's beautiful Previa.

When will I buy an NSX....

Guess who showed up at this meet after SEMA? Takakuni-san made it out with his beauty. If you have no idea who he is, he is the owner of the famous VIP company, Job Design.

Luigi's J's Racing S2k. I gotta see your car in person!

G

Now this is hot!

Old schools were welcomed as well.

Woohoo!! Hakosuka!

A bit of negative camber at the rear will complete the look.

If those wheels are XXRs.....o no...

Hmmm never seen those wheels.

Seems like the AimGain kit.

O gawd! Gorgeous body work.

Line of VIP and VIP-style cars.

Not common to see a Benz styled up.

Nice.

Platinum VIP! Wsup guys!

Some of you guys might not dig this kit because it looks pretty wild, but I love it!

More cars.

Err...not digging the style.

Good fitment.

The Chronicles made it out to the meet. Love his car.

Hot as hell.

Ah! I remember seeing those new colored wheels by SSR.

WOW! Those custom headlights. I want!!

Not so bad! TE37SLs work on this car.

Sick..

Beautiful wheel and brake combo.

Check out those wheels and fitment. Done. GG.

Lastly, Takakuni-san leaving the scene.

Thanks guys for checking out my blog and the event coverage by Clinton. See u guys soon!

How long has it been since I actually logged in and updated my blog? .... I have no idea .... I am truly sorry for all my NI fans. It's not the lack of interest in the car scene guys. I've been hearing from all my friends about the car scene and I always try to keep myself updated by checking out other car blogs. If I have to make another excuse like every blog post I write, I don't shoot anymore and pretty dam busy with my job. O well... but HEY! I'm back again! Let's jump right into what I have to show you guys today.

If you are a fan of my blog, you know that every year, I post up a coverage on SEMA. It's either me going there and covering it alone or sending my guys. Unfortunately for this year, my guys and I couldn't make it :/ So I had to look through my facebook friends/groups/etc. to see who would contribute their work for my blog. Luckily, I came across UCI's facebook group and saw a photo posted by Seijin Dootson. He gladly accepted my request and sent a few photos yesterday for my blog to share with you guys.

The first car you see up there is one of my favorite cars, the Mazda RX-7 FD. It kinda sucks to know that the FD doesn't get much recognition like the old days, but I still love it and will be one of my favorites until I die. What you see is a bit different from other modified FDs you've seen at car shows/events. The widebody is the popular Rocket Bunny kit with a wheel I have never seen by Enkei, the Enkei92. The color combo is a love at first sight kind of feeling.

DSC_0009

On this Rx-8 at Exedy's booth with new wheels is owned by Kyle Mohan.

DSC_0013

FRSs were still one of the most popular cars at SEMA this year.

DSC_0017

I also heard a variety of modified NSXs were displayed at several booths. This one was equipped with Airrex/Accuair as its suspension and a Vortech Supercharger.

DSC_0021

Scion Tuner Challenge is one of the most interesting contests at SEMA every year. There are 3 contestants and each one has its own unique feature, like this one modified by Speed Hunters.

DSC_0037

DSC_0040

The all new 2015 "King Cobra", which makes about 600HP.

DSC_0042

Mustangs had a good response this year. I've always wondered what a widebody Mustang would look like...hmmmmm

DSC_0046

DSC_0051

O wait~! Look what we have here. Ken Block's 1965 Ford Mustang. Now I heard this car will be the one ripping the streets for Gymkhana SEVEN. Pretty interesting eh?

DSC_0055

Tuner Motorsport's Z4 at H&R's booth.

DSC_0057

Don't you just love STi's? I do...

DSC_0059

The newest generation Scion tC didn't get much of a spotlight, but if you get one fitted with a Rocket Bunney kit, it becomes a different story. Fredric Aasbo's tC is the first one with its kit. I saw a rendered version of a Rocket Bunny tC and fell in love with it. This one is a bit different from what I've imagined though...

DSC_0063

Another popular widebody kit at SEMA was Liberty Walk. I mean..the 911's still look gorgeous without any kits, but a widebody one just steps up the game. LB Performance became very popular after its first debut at SEMA last year and the popularity just grew bigger. This 997 is a great example.

DSC_0064

That a$$ is looking better than Kim Kardashian's.

DSC_0068

The Lexus RC-F sport became an internet sensation once Rocket Bunny showed a rendering of it with its widebody on the net. If you were at SEMA this year, then you got a piece of it.

DSC_0070

If you don't see Bisimoto at SEMA, something is wrong. I've always been a fan with their ideas and cars.

DSC_0072

How rare is it to see a Spoon Honda Fit? Pretty dam rare.

DSC_0075

DSC_0076

We just gotta love R35s.

DSC_0079

DSC_0081

Before I started my blog, I had favored several blogs and one of them was Stance Nation. The "stance" scene was mesmerizing. Always being a fan of Elvis's, I never imagined he would had a project car for his blog. I know his LS is the celebrity of VIP cars and now, he just built a FRS that you won't see in CA. Aimgain FRS? Serious? Mad props bro.

Liberty Walk R35.

DSC_0092

DSC_0093

Now that's a hottie.

DSC_0098

Sorry to admit, but I'm seeing wayyy too many widebodys now lol

DSC_0122

Now there's a slight twist with this one. Never seen a widebody on this car.

DSC_0136

One of the cars I'm looking forward to see on the streets is this "next Supra". Most of you guys know this is a concept and the actual FT-1 might be different. If the real FT-1 comes out like this one, I will seriously put this car in my "must-needed" list.

DSC_0139

DSC_0146

DSC_0150

Just found out Speed Hunter's FRS won the Scion Tuner Challenge. Congratulations!

DSC_0154

Can't never get sick of a R35.

DSC_0158

DSC_0172

This Rocket Bunny NSX got so much attention this year. All I saw on my facebook was this car. If I was at SEMA this year, I would stare at this car for quite a long time.

DSC_0174

DSC_0176

Yeap..I'm still staring at this car.

Toyo Tires always had a good display with their sponsored cars.

If you do not know Rauh-Welt...then you need to know about them.

DSC_0250

BOOYA!! MONEY~!!!!!!

DSC_0289

I see golden trumpets.

DSC_0321

Once the R34 becomes legal in the US... :D

DSC_0331

DSC_0334

Fan of trucks? I learned a little about them because of our editor Edgar Lozoya (owns the midnight purple G35 with all the ARC parts).

DSC_0343

So...this Liberty Walk Ferrari was the one that got rear-ended by a Jeep. Seriously...if you are one of those guys who actually displays your car at SEMA, please watch out when you enter and exit...I was pretty surprised how Liberty Walk's owner came out of the car and was cool about everything. It doesn't matter if you are the owner of a company and can get the parts 24/7. Keeping a positive attitude when your car gets rear-ended at any situation is just different story to me. Mad props!

DSC_0350

Here's the boss! Dammit...the car behind..ARGH! <3 br="">
DSC_0359

Come to me..pleaseeee

DSC_0393

DSC_0401

Drifting action at SEMA like always.

DSC_0415

Going to finish it off with a FD.

Really appreciate all my fans for checking out NI today. I'll be back SOON! Promise!! 3>

GTR Meet-3

Like many say, better late than never..right? It's been about a month since Japan had its infamous meet...a meet that's known by many enthusiasts around the world. If you are a Skyline fan like myself, then it isn't optional, but mandatory for you to look through other blogs for a coverage on the R's Meeting or even better, checking it out on Night Import. I believe this is our second time covering this event thanks to our contributor Charles in Japan.

Many of you guys know how Japan hosts numerous car shows/events, probably even more than here in the States, and one event you just need to attend if you plan on going to Japan in September, is this one. Yea yea~ I know things can be seen online these days, but actually attending one is obviously different and an experience that cannot be forgotten.

If you know me well, my dream car is a Skyline BNR34. I made a separate post about this, just to share some of my knowledge about cars that I really want to get. So imagine how badly I want to go to Japan and just see Skylines haha. Anyways I'll stop with the talk and take you guys on a tour to the R's meeting.

R's meet-28From Hakosukas to R35s, every line in the Skyline family can be seen at this event.
  R's meet-30Bunch of R32s parked separately.
R's meet-1While some of the cars were parked to show, others were on the track.
  GTR Meet-2Ahhhh~~~ what a scene!
GTR Meet-5A set of Volk TE37s completing the look on this R33.
GTR Meet-4R-Line R33 on what looks like BBSs.
GTR Meet-7Now to the area where all the vendors were.
GTR Meet-8Yeap~ One of my favorite aftermarket companies in Japan, Mine's had their R35 and R34 on display. Charles actually featured a R33 from this company for our blog. I'll try to find that link later for you guys.
  GTR Meet-10Ah yes. HKS.
GTR Meet-11Seems like the D'station ADVAN GT-R R35 that participated in the SUPER GT GT500 Class, driven by Bjorn Wirdheim and Hironobu Yasuda.

R's meet-15Very nice view. Good job Charles!
R's meet-16Charles needs to eat too right?
R's meet-17I don't know why...but why does every food I see through pictures in Japan, look better than the ones I can actually taste and see in person here in the States. WHY!?
  GTR Meet-21Just because it's a meet for GT-Rs doesn't mean you'll only spot GT-Rs. Here's one gorgeous looking S15.
  GTR Meet-23Well hello family~
   R's meet-19Loving the track stance.

And......I'm back! with an even better coverage, brought to you by our active contributing photographer/videographer in Japan, Charles Zee Zayas. Charles has been running his ass off to various meets and because of him, NI is able to bring you guys some stuff from Japan. I would personally love to go there and see it for myself, but because of this work I have to handle, those days will not come too soon. However, I might be able to make it to Tokyo Auto Salon, so once that happens, I'll keep you guys updated on facebook.

Back to where we left off, there are 2 meets that go on together at Chiba Circuit, just outside of the infamous Tokyo, Japan. One is the well-known R's meet, which I'll be writing up a coverage on some time next week, and another that's not so well known, called the 1JZ meet. I haven't come across a coverage on this meet on all those famous blogs that we know of. Charles is actually a huge fan of drifting, so hearing those tires screeching and smelling the tires burning is a stimulus for him to work even harder in the car scene. Let's see what Charles saw at the meet.
1J-GTR-2I'm sure there were variety of cars with different engine setups, but the ones that actually participated in the drifting event were mostly 1JZ equipped cars.
  1jzz-2Front-end looks like...an animal.
1jzz-3Fuked up bumpers and the sound of turbo spooling is what makes this meet so interesting and fun.
  1J-GTR-3Very clean S13 cruising down.
  1jzz-4The enjoyment of shooting cars.
1J-GTR-4Seems like these JZXs getting ready to enter the track. Look at those guys looking at Charles haha.
  1jzz-5Weeee~~ drifto!

  1J-GTR-6Hello guys!
  1J-GTR-7From far away...Whiteness.
1J-GTR-8

1jzz-7Loving the Black on Black look.
1J-GTR-11Just a hint of what will be shown in our R's meet coverage.
  1jzz-10Look at that.
 1jzz-13S15 alert!!!
  1jzz-12While some cars were leaving..
lexus-1Some were getting ready to rip it up. Stay tuned for our Part 2 coverage on the 1JZ meet.

JZ-32There were a lot of photos Charles sent through e-mail throughout this week and I finally had time to organize and edit them for 2 separate coverages. Obviously, one was the one I posted up last week, which was the 1JZ meet at Fuji Speedway, and the other being the R's meet (will be posted up this week). Today, I'll be continuing from where we left off with our Part 1 coverage of the 1JZ meet, so you'll be seeing more show cars and drifting. Charles did a great job trying to cover the entire event. If you guys have some time, drop by his fanpage and give him a shout out!

JZ-1I'm not sure with the amount of spectators that come to this show every year, but no matter what car show/meet you go to in Japan, you'll see a decent crowd. Not to the point where you're jammed between two people throughout the entire event.
JZ-2Blue and White combo couldn't look any better.
JZ-3How about this clean looking and well fitted JZX.
  JZ-4That lowness...
JZ-5I don't know about you guys, but the Pink body color goes so well with this chassis.
  JZ-6Ballin!
  JZ-7More cars coming through.
JZ-8

JZ-9Just the site of one gives me the chills.
JZ-10Ready to get off the car and spectate.
  JZ-11Perfect car to observe first.
  JZ-12Let the drifting begin.
JZ-13

JZ-14

JZ-15

JZ-16

JZ-17Really loving this shot.
JZ-19

  JZ-20Weeeee~~~
JZ-18Outside of the track, one car I favored the most out of all the cars Charles captured through his lens, was this Toyota Mark X. The fitment and body shape looks gorgeous.
JZ-21More cars in the showcase lot.
JZ-22

JZ-23

  JZ-24Looking like a badass.
JZ-25Some of the participants getting ready to enter the track.
  JZ-27A good crowd.
JZ-30I want to go to Japan... ㅠㅠ
  JZ-35Now that's a catchy color.
  JZ-36Definitely in love.
  JZ-37Ouf~
JZ-38That infamous JZX I showed you guys in Part 1.
JZ-40Even the security guard loved how it looked.
  JZ-39That rear camber.
  JZ-44Boss intercooler.
JZ-45

  JZ-46White cars for the win.
  JZ-47So f'in clean.
  JZ-49S13 chilling at the side.
JZ-50Tons of JZXs at this show.
  JZ-53Going wide.
JZ-54

JZ-43

JZ-42Few more rides to end this coverage. I really suck at writing things, especially on an event that I actually didn't attend, so please understand the shortness and not well-written coverage. Let's just say, today's coverage was all about the photos. Hope everyone enjoyed! Next coverage will be on the R's meet. Peace!
